It was an evening of reflection and inspiration as Dr Eugenia Chinenye Ndukwe, the dynamic MD/CEO of XEM Group, was honoured with the Entrepreneurial Excellence Award by Drum Majors for Peace during the 6th Edition of the annually organised and internationally recognised NATIONAL PEACE AND ENTERTAINMENT SUMMIT, held in partnership with the China Cultural Centre, Nigeria.
The award, bestowed in recognition of her visionary leadership in business, commitment to the welfare of retirees, and unwavering support for the creative industry, stood as a testament to years of impactful service, innovation, and compassion.
According to Ambassador Nsikan Paul, MD/CEO of Drum Majors for Peace, the honour was well deserved. “Women like you are rare. Your voice needs to be heard. We need more people like you,” he said in an emotional tribute, emphasising Dr Ndukwe’s role in empowering creatives and promoting positive values through entrepreneurship.
He described her as an icon of resilience and innovation, whose contributions to Nigeria's economic and human capital development have not gone unnoticed.
For Dr Ndukwe, it was more than just an award; it was a moment of deep reflection. In her acceptance remarks, she expressed profound gratitude to God and to the Drum Majors for Peace for the recognition, noting that the honour mirrors the vision and values she and her team at XEM Group have upheld over the years.
“This award means a lot to me and to those who have walked this journey with me over the past eight years. It reminds us that dreams become reality when passion meets purpose,” she said.
She spoke about the importance of collaboration in line with goal 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals and shared vision, stressing that “the world is too vast for one person to conquer alone.” Dr Ndukwe reiterated XEM Group’s openness to partnerships that drive sustainable development and create platforms for others to thrive.
Taking a nostalgic turn, she reflected on her humble beginnings and the influence of her former boss, whose mentorship and energy, she said, became her lifelong inspiration.
“I never knew I was learning while working for him. Today, those lessons have shaped who I’ve become,” she shared.
Her story, from resilience to recognition, resonated with many in attendance, serving as a beacon of hope to emerging entrepreneurs and creatives across Nigeria.
Dr Ndukwe’s recognition by Drum Majors for Peace underscores a simple truth: greatness is not built overnight, but through consistent service, passion, and faith in humanity.
As the evening drew to a close, one thing was clear: Dr Eugenia Chinenye Ndukwe is not just building a business empire; she’s building people, purpose, and peace.
